While Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse & Lounge is certainly a huge draw for our hometown of Paxton, there is plenty to do once you’re here.
Paxton sits between the North Platte and South Platte Rivers, so there is plenty of scenery, wildlife and recreation available. Lake McConaughy, a virtual inland sea with white sand beaches, is just 20 minutes away—great for camping, fishing, boating, skiing and just relaxing.
At the I-80 interchange serving Paxton, you’ll find a Days Inn Motel, 24-hour Shell gas station/convenience store and RV pads.
For groceries, visit Hehnke’s in Paxton—and for hardware, stop by Kildare Lumber.
Paxton has a public park, a public pool, and churches serving Catholic, Lutheran and Methodist denominations.
